Fiona Bell’s artwork is decorated boldly in red and black, with scenes of personal experiences, usually involving other people. Fiona’s decoration is commenting on her observations and understanding of a social interactions or experiences from a distance. Fiona’s inspiration is drawn from family holidays and weekends away from Brisbane, the beach seems to be common theme. Fiona is especially aware of her immediate environment and even though Fiona is seemingly quiet, she is able to portray her bold personality through her decorations. Her style seems to breakdown the complexity of the real world and focus you attention on elements within the composition, of which would normally get looked over.

Recently the Monte Lupo team extended her designs into large scale sculptors which were accepted into the Swell Sculpture Festival – Swell at Currumbin Beach on the Gold Coast
