On 27th June 2007 The Honorable Warren Pitt MP, State Minister for Disability Services, officially reopened Ford House, which had been refurbished in preparation for a joint Multicap and Disability Services Queensland initiative called STEPS, a short term emergency placement service for people with multiple disabilities and complex support needs.
Ford House, named after former Multicap Chairman Reverend SB Ford, was originally built in 1974 and recently underwent extensive refurbishment to upgrade these much needed facilities. Up to six clients can now reside on a short term basis in modern facilities located within Multicap’s extensive Eight Mile Plains grounds.
During the ceremony Minister Pitt congratulated Multicap on continuing to help lead the way in providing local services for local people with multiple disabilities, including much needed short term respite.
