A message from the CEO: December 2021

As we head into the festive season for another year, I reflect with pride on our achievements during 2021.

It has been an exciting year of growth, with the merger of Breakaway in January and more recently the partnership with Open Minds in October. I’m so proud of what this growth means for our customers; increased choice and service options aligns with our commitment to deliver support that enhances the lives of our customers and their families.

We are thankful for the success of our grants program which has allowed us to redevelop the kitchen at Monte Lupo Café and Gallery at Eight Mile Plains, buy a new commercial washing machine and dryer at Laundretto and deliver an outdoor extension at the Toowoomba Hub.

Our supported employees have led the way with the growth we have achieved at our employment businesses this year. Our Makeables team at Tingalpa has expanded thanks to a contract with PepsiCo and we are so excited to offer real employment opportunities that develop skills and help our customers move through our employment pathway to open employment in the future.

We have worked hard throughout the year to continue delivery of our services safely during the COVID-19 pandemic. From offering our customers the opportunity to receive their vaccinations at our Hubs, to more recently ensuring our entire frontline workforce is fully vaccinated before the end of the year, safety has been central for us all.

In November, the Chair of the Board, Angela Tillmanns and I hosted our Annual General Meeting online for another year to allow members to attend at various Hubs. You can access the AGM presentation on the Corporate Governance section of our website.

If you are interested in our performance for 2020-2021, you should have received a copy of our Annual Report by post. You can also find the digital version on our website, pick up a printed copy at your local Hub, or you can request a copy by emailing marketing@multicap.org.au.

Thank you for your ongoing support during the year. I hope you have a peaceful and enjoyable festive season shared with family and friends. I look forward to connecting with you again in 2022 when Multicap celebrates our 60th anniversary.
