COVID-19 Vaccine

Supporting our customers and staff with COVID-19 vaccination

Multicap fully supports the Australian Government's COVID-19 vaccination program, and we encourage all of our customers and staff to receive the vaccine to help protect ourselves and our communities. Where possible and appropriate, Multicap is providing support to customers to prepare and receive their COVID-19 vaccination, and continues to work with customers, their support networks and health practitioners throughout the rollout. Multicap strongly advises customers seek advice from their General Practitioner regarding their eligibility for the vaccine and any relevant health considerations.

As the vaccination program progresses, Multicap will update this page with any relevant information for customers (in addition to direct communication as required).

Multicap customers

  • Multicap has been working to coordinate COVID-19 vaccinations for interested customers at a number of Multicap Community Hubs, workplaces and some Supported Independent Living locations. Staff have been liaising directly with customers to coordinate appointments. If you are yet to start your vaccinations, we encourage you to speak to your Service Manager about how Multicap may be able to support you to attend a vaccination appointment.
  • Multicap customers can also make their own appointment via the Department of Health’s website to check their vaccine eligibility. Please take note of advice provided by the Department of Health, Queensland Health and your GP regarding any health considerations you may have.

Multicap staff

  • Multicap support staff will not be offered the vaccine at the same time they are rostered to support customers being vaccinated. This is to ensure customer safety and comfort at all times, and these staff will receive their vaccination at another time. Multicap is incentivising staff to get their vaccinations by making a special payment to each worker who receives both their doses, or paid time off for administration staff so they can attend vaccination appointments.

Be informed

Multicap also recognises and appreciates that receiving the vaccine is completely voluntary and the decision to take part is up to each individual. It's important to be informed so you can make the decision that's right for you. It's just as important to make sure the information you're receiving is accurate and is from official and trusted sources.

Multicap recommends using the following websites as the main sources of information for research on COVID-19 and the vaccine
