COVID-19 Vaccine

Supporting our customers and staff with COVID-19 vaccination

Multicap fully supports the Australian Government's COVID-19 vaccination program, and we encourage all of our customers and staff to receive the vaccine to help protect ourselves and our communities. Where possible and appropriate, Multicap is providing support to customers to prepare and receive their COVID-19 vaccination, and continues to work with customers, their support networks and health practitioners throughout the rollout. Multicap strongly advises customers seek advice from their General Practitioner regarding their eligibility for the vaccine and any relevant health considerations.

As the vaccination program progresses, Multicap will update this page with any relevant information for customers (in addition to direct communication as required).

  • Customers in Multicap Accommodation services
Multicap has been working to coordinate COVID-19 vaccinations for our customers who live in our Accommodation Services, who have provided consent and require support to receive the vaccine. Staff at Accommodation Services are liaising directly with customers and their support networks to make arrangements.
  • Customers of other Multicap services
Multicap customers who do not live in disability accommodation settings are encouraged to visit the Department of Health’s website to check their vaccine eligibility. The eligibility checker also has a search function for vaccination providers and an appointment booking/enquiry tool.  As demand for the vaccine is very high, we recommend you check your eligibility and make enquiries as soon as possible, taking note of advice provided by the Department of Health, Queensland Health and your GP regarding any health considerations you may have.
  • Multicap staff
Support staff will not be offered the vaccine at the same time they are rostered to support customers being vaccinated. This is to ensure customer safety and comfort at all times, and these staff will receive their vaccination at another time. Multicap will support all staff across the organisation to receive their vaccination when it is made available to them.

Be informed

Multicap also recognises and appreciates that receiving the vaccine is completely voluntary and the decision to take part is up to each individual. It's important to be informed so you can make the decision that's right for you. It's just as important to make sure the information you're receiving is accurate and is from official and trusted sources.

Multicap recommends using the following websites as the main sources of information for research on COVID-19 and the vaccine
