Monte Lupo Story

Our Story

The name “Monte Lupo” pays tribute to a small pottery village nestled in the hills of Tuscany, known as Montelupo Fiorentina. This tight-knit community is famous for a centuries-old tradition of producing brightly coloured and boldly designed pottery in a collaborative process.

Today the town of Montelupo continues this tradition of quality pieces and the entire town derives its livelihood from pottery in one form or another.

Our founding potter, David Usher was inspired by his mother-in-law who was trained in Montelupo as a potter and decorator. This way of working had such an influence on Usher’s practice that the business he developed for Multicap became known as Monte Lupo Arts.

As the new ‘Monte Lupo’, we hope to emulate not only their vision but also their combination of people, skills, commitment and long term success.

Thank you for your support and for being part of our story.
