Multicap workforce skills up for performance excellence

In collaboration with registered training organisations, 23 of Multicap’s Service Leaders have recently received an industry standard diploma accreditation through a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) pilot program.

Participating Service Leaders graduated with a Diploma in Community Services in November, through strategic partners TAFE Queensland and Care College.

The pilot program was a strategic initiative that allowed Multicap to invest in continued professional development and enable a consistent approach to person centred practice across Multicap.

It enabled Multicap’s Service Leaders to provide evidence of their ability to enhance the lives of customers as well as consolidate their awareness and knowledge in community services best practice.

Multicap is committed to ensuring its customers are supported by an appropriately skilled and experienced workforce.

Multicap’s Capability Development Manager, Ursy congratulated every graduate for their dedication and commitment to their continued professional development in achieving this qualification.

“It has been a truly successful pilot program, given that this qualification was achieved in three months rather than the normal 18 months.”

“It is exciting to be able to support, encourage, influence, and empower staff to continue growing through obtaining formal qualifications,” Ursy said.

RPL is a process that assesses a competency, (acquired through formal and informal learning) to determine the requirements for a unit of study are met.

Across three months, participants worked with assessors and registered training organisations to collect evidence of course units which involved interviews and gap training where required.
