As our Multicap guest, our trained and helpful staff will support your independence by creating a home away from home. 

We offer a range of supportive, flexible and responsive respite options, from Multicap’s own fully-accessible houses, through to short-term rented homes or hotel rooms. We’ve got you covered. We want your experience as our respite guest to be an exceptional one.

During your stay, you can enjoy a range of activities including daily living skills like cooking, and community activities such as movie outings and trips to the beach. All respite activities are tailored to your goals. 

 

Confused about respite under the NDIS?

There is no item currently under the NDIS, listed as ‘respite’. Rather, the NDIS use terms like ‘short term accommodation’ for respite-like supports.  

Under the NDIS, ‘short term accommodation’ is classed as short stays in group-based facilities for a 24 hour period or more, including daily personal activities, accommodation, food and negotiated activities.

Under the NDIS, longer term arrangements are called Supported Independent Living – what we call Disability Accommodation
