We are currently seeking a Team Leader to support the delivery of Multicap’s Day Service in Eight Mile Plains.

The successful applicant will be responsible for leading select operational teams, ensuring service delivery is reflective of customer need and aligned to agreed quality outcomes for the individual and organisation.

Primary duties will also include:

  • Ensuring the delivery of agreed quality services to clients line with the their individual service plan and Multicap’s strategic priorities for the service and organisation
  • Development of person centred programs
  • Providing leadership, guidance and supports to Direct Support Staff.
  • Establishing and maintaining key stakeholder relationships, enhancing the client’s experience of Multicap services and providing opportunity for improved brand awareness and image.

The position is a permanent full-time position for 76 hours per fortnight.

To be considered for the position, you will ideally have:

  • Demonstrated advanced skills in assisting adolescents and adults with disabilities, particularly those with complex support needs.
  • Experience in leading diverse teams including well developed interpersonal and communicative skills.
  • Experience in coordinating and administrating the delivery of dynamic services
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of the Queensland Disability Services Act 2006,(including amendments relative to restrictive practice) and National Disability Service Standards

Sports Development Leader - Avegates

We are currently seeking a Sports Development Leader to support our busy Avegates social program in local communities across Queensland.

Your new role

The Avegates ‘Sports Development Leader’ will be responsible for the day to day operations of the sports stream within the Avegates Social Support program. The sports stream works collaboratively with all Multicap regions and local sporting organisations to ensure that people with disabilities can participate inclusively in competitive team sports and build social connections, based on individual interests, skills and abilities. Other primary duties including:

  • Link and liaise with local sporting clubs across the South East Queensland region to grow and develop a disability competition league (both Summer and Winter leagues) that integrates
  • Assist local clubs to support registered players with disability by providing specialised personnel at training and game days
  • Pursue media opportunities that promote program objectives and grow club and player participation, in consultation with Multicap marketing department
  • Maintain regular and meaningful communication with program sponsors that builds strong and lasting relationships

 This position is a fixed-term part-time position for 40 hours per fortnight for a period of 12 months.

What you bring

To be considered for the position, you will ideally have demonstrated previous experience in sports development, business management, and/ or sponsorship. You will also demonstrate:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of legislation, policy, and associated programs in the disability and/or related community services area.
  • Experience in the development, training and implementation of positive behaviour support plans.

  • Financial acumen including the development of individual service quotes and management of a prescribed budget.

Your new role

The ‘Avegates Local Events Officer‘ is responsible for the smooth running of local events that form part of the Avegates social program in local communities across the state. Local events are held in a variety of local venues and the events officer is required to ensure attendees have a streamlined and enjoyable experience. Some of the primary duties of the role include:

  • Provide a central point of contact for registered attendees on arrival to the event. Welcome attendees with a warm and enthusiastic greeting.
  • Document attendee's arrival and ensure that all attendees are accounted for with pre-purchased tickets
  • Manage the sale of raffle tickets and ensure that the raffle is run in accordance with Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation requirements
  • Assist attendees and their companions in any issues they may experience to ensure they have an enjoyable evening
  • Record and feedback attendee evaluation of the event, and convey ideas for improvements to the Program Manager
  • Ensure standards for quality, customer service and health & safety are met, resolving health and safety, legal and security issues and recording requirements as per organizational and program policies and procedures

Your new role

You will be responsible for researching and arranging inclusive holiday packages and providing customized travel advice for people with disabilities and their families as part of our offer of quality holiday programs and packages.

You will be part of the Avegates Social Support team and your role will be to work collaboratively with all Multicap regions to ensure that our customers with disabilities can have amazing holiday adventures.

We are currently seeking an experienced Information Technology Officer to support in an important role in the monitoring and maintenance of the computer systems and networks of Multicap. Reporting directly to the Chief Integration Officer, the successful candidate will be conveniently based in Multicap's Brisbane South Region at Eight Mile Plains.

Your new role

Our Successful applicant will provide configuration  of computer systems, diagnose hardware and software faults and solve technical and applications problems, either over the phone or in person. Other primary duties will include:

  • Provide service desk support functions to end users to IT related issues either face to face or over the phone
  • Design and deliver IT focused training around the use of Multicap Systems and Assets
  • Maintain open and effective communication and on-going relationships between Multicap external providers
  • Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications
  • Monitor server utilisation and workload
  • Liaise with external providers regarding testing results and issues
  • Management of all phone and internal services

This is a full-time position for 76 hours per fortnight.

What you bring

  • Demonstrated ability to provide IT support to users with a wide range of ability
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to manage user enquiries in a cordial, professional and helpful manner
  • Strong eye for detail
  • Demonstrated understanding of software solutions and their application in a large organisation including knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products

We are currently seeking an experienced Manager, Employee Relations & Development to support our busy People & Culture Team, based in Brisbane's Eight Mile Plains. 

Your new role

The ‘Manager, Employee Relations & Development‘ will provide guidance, support and professional advice to managers in relation to employee relations issues, including involvement and/or leading and participating in employee relations issues such as potential dismissals, bullying allegations and unfair dismissal claims. Some of the primary duties of the role include:

  • Provide expert advice in relation to Fair Work Legislations in managing employee relations issues and work with managers to ensure investigations are conducted in accordance with our Corrective Discipline Policy
  • Undertake HR project work in collaboration with the General Manager of People & Culture
  • Design, implement and review human resources policies, procedures and initiatives regarding recruitment, learning and development activities in line with contemporary practices
  • Provide training, coaching and support to new supervisors and provide feedback to them in relations to their handling of issues to obtain confidence in appropriately managing
  • Conduct training sessions relevant to knowledge and expertise
  • Coordinate parental leave applications, parental leave, payments and return to work for those staff

 This is a fixed-term part-time (0.8 FTE) role for a period of 6 months.

What you bring

To be considered for the position, you will ideally have demonstrated experience in event management, sales and/or marketing. You will also demonstrate:

  • A positive attitude, enjoy working as part of a high functioning team and be able to work flexibly
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications or equivalent relevant human resources professional experience, including a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment is highly desirable
  • Knowledge and experience in managing employee relations issues in accordance with Fair Work legislation and best practice guidelines
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective working partnerships with managers and proven interpersonal, and consultation skills
  • Well developed computer literacy skills within a Microsoft Office environment and an understanding of computerised human resource information systems
